This is an original painting using watercolour, pastel and collage. Blackbirds are native to the British Isles and are with us throughout the whole year. I chose the blackbird as I had one chirping outside my window for a while and I really enjoyed its cheerful, varied song. The blossom is from a tree that flowers in early spring at my allotment.
