About

I am an artist based in London, UK, where I create watercolour and collage works that explore floral and avian themes.

I began my career as a printed textiles designer after graduating from St. Martin’s School of Art at the end of the 1980’s. This background in design significantly influences my current practice, as I merge a variety of techniques and use of media. My work encompasses both the complexity and simplicity of nature, along with a range of colours from subtly beautiful to more vibrant shades.

It gives me great pleasure to grow flowers from seed and then make floral arrangements once the blooms are ready, whether I am at home, the allotment or elsewhere. I have always had a great love of plants and nature and for eleven years I wrote a column about gardening and wildlife, called Urban Fox, for my local Gazette newspaper.

My approach is both nostalgic and contemporary, bridging the gap between both worlds. I have had flower paintings selected for the Chelsea Arts Society Summer Shows, held annually in Chelsea Town Hall, London.
